How can Chiropractic Care Help?
A thorough assessment must be made in order to determine the root cause of the problem. If necessary, we will send you for imaging to check on the health of your musculoskeletal and nervous system. Treatment will begin with spinal manipulation of the restricted spinal segments in your back in order to restore range of motion, proper nerve function by reducing inflammation in the area and reduce muscle tension. Ice therapy and laser can also be utilised to assist in faster recovery.
Once your pain and discomfort levels have reduced, we will then start you on a rehabilitation plan to strengthen muscles surrounding your spine and pelvis. Strengthening these muscles increases stability in the region and minimises the chances of reoccurrence long term.
This typically occurs from trauma, car accidents, or increasingly from poor posture over a prolonged period of time.
ELECTROTHERAPY
Shockwave:
For stubborn conditions we may utilise Shockwave therapy. It works by producing audio waves which have a mechanical affect on our tissues causing micro trauma. The body responds by restarting the healing process and producing collagen which is delivered to the injured area. Shockwave also works by increasing blood flow to the area speeding up recovery.
Interferential:
Interferential uses an electrical current to assist in the rehabilitation phase by stimulating the targeted muscles, reducing swelling and decreases pain intensity.
Laser:
Laser therapy uses low levels of laser light applied over the target area to help decrease inflammation, pain and to assist with wound healing.
Ultrasound:
Ultrasound works by utilising pulses of sound waves top penetrate the tissues which can reduce inflammation and in turn reduce pain.
